Greetings BEER Warriors!

I know that we are a casual team with overburdened livers but to do well in Community Warfare, we need to be a bit more focused and disciplined.  This has to happen at all levels, from shot callers to the people executing those shots.  We will need to be better about concise descriptions when calling targets, enemy movements, and our own locations.

And this leads to the elephant that snuck into our TS for Community Warfare:  practice.   We need to be practiced in what we say during matches, specifically during pushes and defenses.  We need to be better at calling targets. We need to be better at switching to the called target.  All of this is against our liquor swilling, PUG-dropping ways where we usually discuss whatever during a fight.  So we're gonna have to practice doing this the right way.

What I would like to do is set up Lances for practicing.  If we do it in small groups, schedules can be matched up easier.  I would like to do it so that there are 6 people to a group, so that even if a couple can't make it, there are enough to practice operations or to form up with other lances for actual CW drops.

This isn't an attempt to create a competitive team (although I am somewhat open to that).  This is an attempt at organizing our causal play so that we can put [BEER] on a couple planets and also make enemy teams loathe facing us.  If we are used to specific people calling shots and drop wave layouts, we won't be wasting time trying to listen to two people call separate targets.  If we aren't chatting about whatever when the enemy pushes, we won't miss the call to defend Gamma gate and in the end we will react quicker.

I am prepared to organize and lead a 6 person group.  I know several people have expressed desires to practice drop strategies and shot calling.  So I think we can try and get maybe 1 night a week where we practice in drop with the same people and then perhaps a the occasional unscheduled practice when everyone in the group happens to be on.

So post below with your availability if you are interested.  Note that it will likely not start up until the new year.

TL;DR - Our kiddie-town frolics will need an off switch while in match and we're going to have to get practiced at using that switch.  Sign-up to practice.

I am 100% in! I still plan to pug drop and play drunk on a regular basis, but I would like to see BEER on planets like Old Kentucky... I would be available a couple of evenings a week, most Saturday Evenings, and Sunday is usually pretty open.

I would like to see lance formation practice and see everyone involved be part of two or three lances so that there is plenty of overlap.

I agree with this. Having weekly practices where members can come on their own accord and learn how to play as a team has all of my support. Officers you should have the ability to add events to the calendar, if not, let me know.

That said, as admin I feel I must bring up our rules on this. We operate on volunteer 1st come 1st serve basis. There can be no casting out others based on skill or requiring practice. We are a family and we help each other out. However, I can make a strong push to encourage members to attend practices. I would recommend having multiple days so people can attend. I would also recommend more experienced users to post write ups on tactics and phrasing.

Secondly, we CAN NOT get so salty during practice or CW to the point that players are yelling at each other. "What the fuck are you thinking? Are you dumb? You play like shit. I'm not playing with you again." Attitudes like this will not be tolerated. I don't expect this to be a problem or anything, but i know things can get stressful during CW. Try to be patient with each other and have a good time. People are going to get pissed and yell at times. But be mature adults about it, and moderate yourself. If you offend someone be a man and apologize.

Karbomb, try to grab some others who you would like to lead these practices (I will help where I can too) and pm me when you are ready. We will make this happen.

Just going to throw it out there, but I think it would be great to get things organized now, but not actually start practices in force until after the new year. I think a lot of us will be tied up the next two weeks with holiday stuff (I'm gonna completely miss the holiday tournament shit, ugh).

I agree with Great Gold. Planning this now will let us be ready to actually start after the holiday mayhem.

I'm down for this as well. I can't guarentee specific days I'll have off, but now that I've graduated from UCF I'll be available 4 nights a week from now on (working 12.5 hour night shifts has its benefits lol). I don't mind taking up the responsibility of calling out targets / wrangling our units to make sure there's coverage at various gates / having people reposition as the need arises.
