Call it a Hunch, but I really like Hunchbacks

Hey y'all!  So as some of you know I really like the Hunchback.  Matter of fact I even own all of them now (including the terrible 4H) and thought I'd put all the builds I use for them into one mega-hunchtacular thread!

HBK-4G
- STD 220
- x2 Dbl Heat Sinks
- x1 AC 20 (4 tons ammo)
- x3 Medium Lasers (arms + head)
- Endo Steel
- AC 20 range / cooldown + Medium Laser range modules

Pretty much standard build for the 4G.  I put a smaller engine in it to try and fit as much ammo for the AC 20 as possible.  Damn thing still runs dry during intense fights rather quickly with 4 tons.

HBK-4H  "Bad Luck Brian"
- STD 220
- x2 Dbl Heat Sinks
- x1 AC 10 (4 tons ammo)
- x5 Medium Lasers (arms, head, right torso)
- Endo Steel
- AC 10 range / cooldown + Medium Laser range modules

I want this mech to be good so badly.  The medium lasers thrown in such a good punch, but the AC 10 follow up feels so puny and weak.  If it could fire just a teensy bit faster it would be a much better mech, but alas it doesn't.

HBK-4J "The Freshman" aka "Murica"
- XL 255
- x2 Dbl Heat Sinks
- x2 LRM 10 (8.5 tons ammo)
- x3 Small Lasers (right torso)
- x1 TAG Laser (head)
- x1 BAP (right torso)
- Endo Steel
- LRM 10 range / cooldown modules

My take on BountyHunter88's Freshman build.  I put an XL 255 in so that it can keep up with the team, or beat a hasty retreat to maintain minimum firing distance if enemies are trying to get in close.  Even with 8.5 tons of ammo it still doesn't feel like it's enough given how fast these damn things fire.  Putting them on chain fire would be the best way to go to both manage heat and keep a steady stream of LRMs pelting an enemy.
- Fun tip:  Having an American flag in the cockpit along with using the red, white, and blue camo colors with the camo pattern that has the star on the chest will add approximately 70% more freedom per LRM salvo fired on the enemy.

HBK-4P
- STD 255
- x6 Dbl Heat Sinks
- x8 Medium Lasers
- x1 Medium Pulse Laser (in head)
- Endo Steel
- Medium Laser range / cooldown modules

God damn is this build dangerous if you can manage the heat effectively.  The hunch alone does 30 points of near pinpoint damage every 1.5 seconds or so.  Add on the 16 damage from the other lasers in the head / arms and only a completely fresh heavy or assault can face tank you for extended periods of time.

HBK-4SP "Lil' Slugger"
- STD 255
- x2 Dbl Heat Sinks
- x2 SRM-6 (5 tons ammo)
- x4 Small Lasers (in arms)
- x1 Medium Laser (in head)
- Endo Steel, Artemis
- SRM 6 range / cooldown + Small Laser range modules

I may actually like this build almost as much as the 4G.  With chain fire on + modules this mech can sling the SRMs every second with no cooldown between them.  This build does run hot though if fired continuously, but even if that happens the small / medium lasers can be used to keep the damage going with manageable heat generation.
- Having an American flag in the cockpit adds 40% more freedom per SRM fired

HBK-GI
- STD 220
- x2 Dbl Heat Sink
- x1 Gauss Rifle (5 tons ammo)
- x1 Medium Pulse Laser (in head)
- Endo Steel, Ferro Fibrous Armor
- Gauss range / cooldown + Medium Pulse cooldown + Advanced Zoom modules

This fucking mech.  It literally takes longer to charge up the gauss round to shoot it than to wait on the cooldown.  If you can get eyes on their bigger / slower mechs without taking a ton of fire you can put a minimum of 2-3 rounds into the enemy mech before they retreat to cover or spot you.  Losing the right torso royally sucks though, especially if your CT internals are hurt in any way.  It's typically an instant KO if so.

So those are all the builds I use for my various Hunchbacks! I recommend pretty much any of them for CW with the exception of the 4H, cause it sucks big balls. Personal CW faves though are the Grid Iron and 4G.

Enjoy!
