This setup can work on either map pretty well I believe.  Have had best luck with this setup on Boreal though.

Wave 1
3 - 3.5 Lances heavies / mediums (brawling w/ LRM support or ER support)
.5 - 1 lance extremely fast / small frame lights (commandos / locusts / jenners)

For Boreal Vault:  Get both gates down, have all the non-lights form up at Alpha gate to push in and draw fire.  Light mechs hang out by Beta gate out of sight until the signal is called then rush in (without shooting anything / anyone to maintain cover) and rush Gen 3 (the one furthest away from the gates / is hidden behind a hill near Omega.)  Once gen 3 is down, light lance splits up to hit the remaining 2 generators if their firepower is sufficient to knock them out split.  Otherwise stay together and work on the next nearest generator.

Sulfurous Rift:  Heavy group occupy alpha gate, while light lance takes beta or gamma gate.  Heavy group makes a dedicated push toward the gen closest to alpha gate, while light lance comes in from behind to focus the other 2 generators while enemy team is occupied at alpha.

Wave 2
If wave 1 borks up, can try to repeat the process of wave 1 by switching which gates the lights run through vs the heavies fight, but otherwise this should be the first all-in push into the base.  Heavies / brawling mediums / assaults.  Main focus should be taking out turrets / generators.

Wave 3
2nd all-in push with heavies / mediums / assaults, but 1-3 lights should be present to back door remaining generators or try to burst down omega while main defending focus is occupied with the rush.

Wave 4
Wave 4 really starts with anyone who is on their last mech (meaning it doesn't have to be the entire team on their last mech for this wave.)  So what happens here is people with 2+ remaining mechs form up at one gate (i.e. alpha), and the people on their last mech form up at another (i.e. beta).  Alpha group charges in to hit the enemy directly and cause as much chaos / kill as many mechs as possible, then beta group swoops in once alpha is engaged to finish off Omega generator.  Types of mechs used don't matter as much for this wave, it's really about who is on their last mech vs who isn't.

Wave 5 (presuming wave 4 fails)
This is really for those people left who are on their last mech before getting KO'd for good after wave 4's attempt.  Assuming the defending team hasn't pushed out beyond the gate the remaining mechs on the field should have 1-2 mechs try and bait the defending team to try and push out through one gate while the remaining attacking forces rush the other gate to try and secure the win while the defending team gets cocky.
