Howdy, fellow beer warriors. This post is long overdue, since I've been playing matches with you guys since late last year, but better late than never. I am Meister Brau, from the great bay area (Oakland). Been playing since closed beta, and almost gave up on the game last summer, but have found a second wind with CW. I am an avid homebrewer, and my favorite beer is Death and Taxes from Moonlight brewing company in Sonoma county. Cheers!

Hey whats up man! I'm actually from Hayward.(just don't hold it against me) I went to the Trappist on 8th, they do mostly belgians and you have to order off a menu(?) My local pub is the Bistro in downtown Hayward. Its 2 blocks up from Hayward BART if you ever want to come out. They almost always have Pliny the Elder and Racer 5 on tap. Cheers back at ya!

East bay represent! Nice to see that I'm not the only beer warrior on the west coast.

Hey Meister Brau quick question on brew kettles.

I'm looking at getting a kettle for 5 gallon batches, stainless of course and hopefully integrated thermometer and valve. Not sure if an 8 gallon kettle would work, or if I should go for the 10 gallon kettles. Welded valve? Taller kettle or wider? Just any general advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

8 gallon should be ok. i'd look into this stuff called fermcap that you add to your boil, and it really helps avoid boilovers, if you are worried about that happening. you might want to go with a larger kettle if you think you'll ever move up to larger batches, though. never hurts to plan ahead!
